Why Study in New Zealand?

New Zealand is an increasingly popular destination for students who want a high-quality, globally recognised education in a safe and friendly environment. All eight of its universities rank in the world's top 500, and its qualifications are respected internationally.

The country is renowned for its practical, research-informed teaching, small class sizes, and a lifestyle that balances study with the outdoors β€” making it ideal for students who value wellbeing alongside academics.

Cost of Studying & Living

Tuition for international students typically ranges from NZD 22,000 to 40,000 per year. Auckland is the most expensive city for living costs, while other centres are more affordable.

Applicants must show evidence of funds to cover living expenses (around NZD 20,000 per year) in addition to tuition.

Work Rights & Post-Study Options

Most international students can work up to 20 hours per week during term and full-time during scheduled breaks. After graduation, eligible students can apply for a Post-Study Work Visa valid for up to three years, depending on the level and location of study.

This work experience can support pathways toward residence for graduates in skilled occupations.
